Sophomore, Tony Fairbanks (Norwin) captured the 2009 NJCAA Men's Singles National Bowling Championships by finishing with a 681 series, which tied him for first. This is WCCC's second National Champion in men's singles in the last three years. Congratulations Tony!!

The WCCC women's Bowling team finished 2nd at the PCAA Bowling Championships. Samantha Barbour captured the states single title. She then teamed up with teammate Shannon Gockle, to finish 2nd in doubles. Ashley Sherback placed first in all-events. In the men's lanes, Chris Ross and Nick Sollecchio took 1st place in the men's doubles.

Shannon Gockel's (Hempfield) first place finish in singles (544), helped the WCCC women's bowling team claim the Region XX Bowling Championships. Ashley Sherback (Derry) came on strong (530) as she earned a 2nd place finish in singles. Gockel teamed with Samantha Barbour (Hempfield) in doubles (947), as they went on to win the title. Gockel also finished first in the all events category too. On the men's side, Tony Fairbanks (Norwin) won the men's regional single title with a (653). This helped sparked the men's team on, as they finished as Region XX Runner-Ups. Congratulation Teams!

The women's bowling team claimed the 2009 WPCC Bowling Championship, which marks back to back titles for them. Samantha Barbour(Hempfield) paved the way by winning the singles title with a 191 average. Teammate, Shannon Gockle (Hempfield) finished a close second with a 182. WCCC will be hosting the Men's and Women's Region XX Bowling Championships this weekend. In the men's lanes, they finished in 3rd place, as Nick Sollecchio (Hempfield) finished with a 201 average that placed him 5th. The men's team will look to strike back at the Regional Tournament this weekend.

The men's and women's bowling team's are off to a fast start in the WPCC, as they look to repeat as conference champions. To date, Freshman, Chris Ross (Hempfield) is throwing a 220 avg., Levi Clapper (Bedford) 219 avg., Nick Sollecchio (Hempfield) 219 avg. and Tony Fairbanks (Norwin) 216 avg. On the women's side, Shannon Gockle's (Hempfield) 175 avg. leads the women as Ashley Sherback (Derry) 160 avg. and Samantha Barbour (Hempfield) 159 avg. round out the women's team.
