Textbooks
Online classes require the
same textbooks as the face-to-face versions of the courses.
Books and other supplemental materials are available at the WCCC Bookstore
in Founders Hall on the Youngwood campus.
If ordering from a source other than the WCCC Bookstore,
MAKE SURE that you order the correct edition and/or bundle. Books
often come with supplemental materials such as CD's, DVD's, and/or
other lab manuals. Call or visit the WCCC Bookstore to get
ISBN numbers and other pertinent information regarding the materials
for each class.
Books purchased from other
sources may be the wrong edition, may not include ALL class materials,
OR arrive late.
USED BOOKS: Should you wish to buy used texts or to sell
back textbooks, you may do so through the WCCC Student Government Association
(SGA) Used Book Sale. This takes place during the first week of the fall
and spring semesters at the Youngwood Campus. For additional information,
call 724.925.4000 or 724.836.1600 and ask for "Used Book Sale."
Some of the online book stores noted above also buy back used textbooks.

Software
There are many places to purchase software: brick &
mortar stores; online; and the WCCC Bookstore. As a student, you should
be aware that many software makers offer a reduced price to students and
teachers. This is referred to as Academic Pricing.
Is usually less expensive to purchase software "bundled"
in a suite with other software instead of buying it separately. For example,
Microsoft offers a suite called Standard that includes Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint. This can be found in stores and online in the Academic Pricing
version as "Office 2007 Student and Teacher Edition." The Professional
suite includes Access. Here are a few places to look for software.

is provided as a starting place for students looking for software.
Some of your files for online courses may be in the form
of a PDF document. Adobe makes free software available for viewing and
printing these files. Go to http://www.adobe.com
