There may be a link in the Course Menu called Assignments. This is NOT the Assignment Feature but a content area called Assignments.
The Assignment Feature is a special way to submit a file that links directly to a score in the gradebook. It is distinguishable by the words "View/Complete Assignment …" Using this feature, the instructor can attach comments and/or files to your score. To view the comments, go to your gradebook and click on the score.
To submit files via the Assignment Feature:
Go to the course area that contains the assignment. Scroll down until you see a link that reads "View/Complete Assignment . . ." and click on it. This will be at the end. |
There are three sections to the screen that you now see. Section One repeats the assignment instructions. Scroll down to Section Two. Enter a comment in the Comments Text Box - this is required. Add a file by clicking on Browse and locating the file (Mac users should click on Choose File.) |

To add another file, click on "Add Another File" and then click on Browse. As files are added, they will be listed in Section Two under Currently Attached Files. Use the Remove button if you attach the wrong file. |

In Section 3, click on Save to save files already added and then Ok. Note: this does NOT SEND the files to the instructor. To add more files later go to the assignment and click on "View/Complete Assignment . . ." Repeat the steps from Section Two. To actually SEND the files to the instructor you must click on Submit. |

| First save
the file to your hard drive or disk.
Close the program used to create or edit the file. Navigate to the Digital Dropbox in your course. It can usually be found in Course Tools or it may appear as a separate link in Course Menu. |
To upload files to your instructor choose the SEND FILE button. Do NOT use the ADD FILE button. This merely places files in YOUR dropbox. It does not send them to your instructor. |

Type in a title for the document. Include your FIRST & LAST NAME in the title. Use the Browse button to locate the file. Mac users should click on Choose File. |

The file will now appear in your own dropbox with a label "submitted on month, day, & year." If you do not see this message then the file was not sent. At this time, the file does not have a remove button. After your instructor downloads your file and deletes it from his/her Digital Dropbox, the label on the file in YOUR Digital Dropbox changes to read "received on month, day & year." At this time, the file will have a Remove button. It is now safe to remove it from your Digital Dropbox. If the label on the file reads "posted on month, day, & year " then you used the ADD button instead of the SEND button. It means that you put the file in your drop box but did NOT send it to your instructor. To receive files from your instructor, look in your Digital Dropbox. Files waiting for you are listed here, with titles underlined.
