“I was awarded a President’s Scholarship that’s allowing me to go here for free for two years. I’m taking my basic studies here and plan to transfer to a four-year school. It’s a smart place to start.”

Education Foundation Annual Dinner

Save the Date - November 4, 2012

Chef's Table 2012The Bocuse d’Or is the most elite culinary competition in the world. WCCC’s own Richard Rosendale, CMC, executive chef and director of food and beverage at The Greenbrier, bested three American chefs to represent the United States in this rigorous international competition which will be held in Lyon, France in January 2013.

As Chef Rosendale prepares for this ultimate challenge, WCCC culinary arts students and faculty will pay homage to Lyon and the city’s culinary heritage at The Chefs’ Table 2012.

For the WCCC Education Foundation’s annual dinner, student culinarians will take their menu cues from Lyon’s 19th century bistros, called “bouchons,” which were run by women and made their mark on the early culinary scene. They will also emulate Lyon’s favored son, Chef Paul Bocuse, founder of the world competition, who is described as the father of nouvelle cuisine.

Join us for this culinary journey as we experience the cuisine of Lyon’s past and present and honor the first female inductees to WCCC’s Culinary Arts Hall of Fame. Seating for The Chefs’ Table 2012 is limited so make your reservations early.

The foundation dinner offers a real life learning experience for students enrolled in WCCC's eight hospitality industry programs: Baking and Pastry, Casino/Gaming, Culinary Arts, Dietetic Technician, Dining Room Management, Hotel/Motel Management, Restaurant/Culinary Management, Travel and Lodging.

The dinner this year features:

  • Six-course meal prepared in the culinary tradition of Lyon, France by WCCC Center for Culinary Arts & Hospitality students

  • Induction of the first female chefs into the WCCC Culinary Arts Hall of Fame

  • Seating exclusive to 150 guests

  • Wine-tasting stations

  • Hors d’oeuvres chosen by our guest chefs and freshly prepared to your order

  • Live, silent and gourmet food auctions for your shopping pleasure

Invitations will be mailed in September. Make your reservations early or you'll miss the culinary event of the year!

Dollars raised at the dinner provide scholarships for WCCC culinary students and provide funds for special college initiatives.
