Tuition and Fees  



The following may be used as a guide in calculating costs for the semester. The college reserves the right to change tuition and fees without prior notification before the beginning of any academic session.
  1. Tuition and Fees
    1. Tuition 
      • a. Tuition per credit: 1-11 credits, 19 or more credits
        • Westmoreland County residents - $90 per credit
        • Out-of-County Residents - $180 per credit
        • Out-of-State Residents - $270 per credit
      • b. Flat Rate: 12-18 credits
        • Westmoreland County residents - $1,350
        • Out-of-County Residents - $2,700
        • Out-of-State Residents - $4,050
    2. Technology Service Fee : $15 per credit
    3. Student Service Fee - $3 per credit
    4. Facilities Fee - $3 per credit
    5. Capital Fee Out-of-County Residents Only - $6 per credit
    6. Lab Fees (Most laboratory courses have a fee. The fees range from $10 to $25) - varies
  2. Other Fees
    1. Application fee - $15
    2. Books & Supplies - These costs vary according to individual courses.
    3. Graduation fee (payable in the semester the student expects to graduate)
      • Degree and diploma programs - $20
      • Certificate programs - $15
    4. Credit by exam, per course - $30
    5. Assessment of Experiential Learning, per course - $75
    6. Returned check fee - $25
      • This fee is assessed if you pay by check and your bank returns the check to the college for any reason.

    Tuition Reduction for Older Adults

    If you are a Westmoreland County adult age 60 or older you are eligible for a 50 percent reduction in tuition when you enroll in credit classes. Enrollment with a tuition reduction is contingent upon space availability in the class. This reduction applies only to tuition charges and not to textbooks, equipment/supplies, or lab fees. To enroll, call the Registration Center.


    POLICY: Refund Policy

    All refunds to students or payers are calculated from the official starting date of the course. The number of days or weeks to determine refunds, is calculated by counting the actual days from the starting date of the course and not by counting the course meeting dates.

    For courses meeting for one week or less:
    If you officially drop before the course starts, you may be eligible to receive a 100% refund of tuition and fees. There are no refunds after that date.

    For courses two-weeks through four-weeks long:
    If you officially drop through the first three days of the course, you may be eligible to receive a 100% refund of tuition and fees. There are no refunds after that date.

    For courses five-weeks through nine-weeks long:
    If you officially drop through the first week of the course, you may be eligible to receive a 100% refund of tuition and fees. There are no refunds after the first week of the course.

    For courses of ten-weeks through nineteen-weeks long:
    If you officially drop through the second week of the course, you may be eligible to receive a 100% refund of tuition and fees. There are no refunds after the second week of the course.

    For courses twenty-weeks through twenty-nine weeks long:
    If you officially drop through the second week of the course, you may be eligible to receive a 100% refund of tuition and fees. If you officially drop during the third or fourth week of the course, you may be eligible to receive a 60% refund of tuition. There are no refunds after the fourth week of the course.

    For courses of thirty-weeks or longer:
    If you officially drop through the third week of the course, you may be eligible to receive a 100% refund of tuition and fees. If you officially drop during the fourth, fifth, or sixth week of the course, you may be eligible to receive a 60% refund of tuition. There are no refunds after the sixth week of the course.

    You must contact the Registration Center during the refund period to officially drop a course. If you do not officially drop, you remain obligated for all tuition and fees.
